ugh.

I feel so helpless... I hate what is happening right now.

It's so f-ing weird, almost no one is talking about what is going on in Louisiana at all on campus, we live in such a fucking bubble. All we got was an ALL-L telling people to go and buy gas tonight because Asheville is having a shortage and what not.... my car was out, I paid $3.99 a gallon, and that was only after finding about 6 different gas stations with only 2 actually OPEN. I don't even know what to think about all this. I emailed the minister to students saying we seriously need a community meeting by Friday to talk about what we should be doing to preserve energy, what we can do to help with relief efforts etc. I guess no one has really been aware. I got so anxious Sunday night and now I just feel terrible. I can't imagine what people are having to deal with.

Everybody say some prayers tonight, or send out some love any way you do. There is a lot of crap going down right now and I can't forsee things getting better for a while.

New Orleans is one of the great loves of my life. The whole thing is heartbreaking! Good for you for pushing for action! Sometimes if you want something done right there's just no other way to do it except yourself.

yeah... it's so terrible.
I think I got the ball rolling, the dean of students and other people are meeting tomorrow morning to talk about a possible community meeting next week.
this is all so messed up :(

this school is so small & isolating sometimes. like I said above though, the dean of students is meeting w/ some other people about a potential meeting next week when we actually have more information--I think a lot of people just have no idea what the relief effort even looks like right now, it's so chaotic.
